Porsche Macan R4 Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 76.84 Lakh
The Porsche Macan R4 is the entry-level variant of the Macan in India and will compete with the likes of the Jaguar F-Pace.
German carmaker Porsche has launched the Macan R4 SUV in India. The entry-level variant of the Macan benefits from lower custom duties on cars with an engine capacity below two litres and is priced at Rs. 76,84,000 ex-showroom (Mumbai).
Powering the new Macan R4 is a 1,984cc turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 248bhp and 370Nm of torque.
The engine transmits the power and torque to all four wheels through the help of a 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox and returns a mileage of 12.71km/l.
The Macan R4 will sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds (6.5 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package) thanks to its low kerb weight of 1,770 kilograms (the lightest SUV made by Porsche). The Macan R4 will continue sprinting till it hits a top speed of 229km/h.
Design wise, the Macan R4 is similar to its larger displacement siblings. The Macan R4 sits on 18-inch alloy wheels that hide the black brake calipers. At the rear, the twin tailpipes are made from brushed stainless steel.
Inside, the Macan R4 has comfort seats with electric eight-way adjustment on the driver's side and Alcantara middle seat panels. Also present as standard is the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system.
Porsche has stuffed the new Macan R4 with safety features like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction Control and ESP along with a lane-departure warning system.
Other features included a powered tailgate for easier access to the 500-litre boot.
