Poland Targets To Have One Million Electric Cars On The Road By 2025
Poland targets to have one million electric cars on its roads by the year 2025 to cut carbon emissions from transport, this was stated by Ministry of Energy on Tuesday.
Poland is one of the largest polluters in Europe as it has maintained coal-fuelled power stations as a major source of energy. Condition in some of the Polish towns is so bad that they will choke in smog due to traffic and coal burning in homes.
The Energy Ministry stated that by 2018 it wants to introduce new laws that will regulate the development of electric cars in the country and launch funds to kickstart the production of prototypes of electric cars.
Currently Poland has only few electric cars running on their roads, to promote EV's Poland will be introducing tax relief for electric car owners and subsidies for the first 1,00,000 electric cars. Germany and some other European countries follows a similar strategy to promote the sales of electric cars.
