Peugeot Is Keen To Enter Indian Market — Report
The
French
automaker
Peugeot
is
looking
for
a
comeback
into
the
domestic
Indian
market.
It
is
said
that
the
firm
aims
to
come
to
India
within
next
two
or
three
years.
At the 2016 Paris Motor Show Peugeot Chief Executive, Carlos Tavares stated that the company has a strong desire to re-enter Indian market. And currently, they are finding the right partner.
The rumours about the return of Peugeot to India is circulating for a while now, an alliance is also expected. The demand in the Indian market for every segment is on a high, and this urges the French company to try and encash this opportunity.
It is said that Peugeot also approached Tata Motors but the talks were not fruitful. Earlier in 2011 Peugeot had opened an office in Mumbai and also wanted to acquire land in Gujarat. But due to the financial turmoil the company had to withdraw the plan.
To be successful in Indian market Peugeot should focus on the demands of the domestic market and also keep an eye on the exact requirements of the Indian customers.
