Petrol Price Hiked While Diesel Price Slashed Marginally
The latest revision in fuel prices has seen the price of petrol increase by 36 paise per litre and diesel price reduced marginally by 7 paise per litre. The rates are effective midnight, October 1, 2016.
After the revision, petrol will cost Rs 64.57 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 52.52 per litre in the national capital, Delhi. The latest price revision marks the third time in two months that petrol prices have gone up, while diesel prices have seen a reduction this month.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in a statement said, "The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and decrease in selling price of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision."
