Petrol Price Hiked By 58 Paise Per Litre; Diesel Cut By 31 Paise Per Litre

It has been a fortnight since fuel prices were revised and it is time again. The price of petrol has been hiked by 58 paise per litre while diesel has been reduced by 31 paise per litre. The prices are effective 16 September 2016.

Fuel prices in Delhi, the national capital will now cost Rs. 64.05 for a litre for petrol and Rs. 52.63 per litre for diesel. The prices have been revised in line with international trends.

During the last revision, petrol prices were hiked by Rs. 3.38 per litre and diesel by Rs. 2.67 per litre.

Indian Oil Corp (IOC) in a statement regarding fuel price revision said, "The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and rupee - US dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and decrease in selling price of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision."
