By Dennis
Petrol and Diesel prices across the country have dropped by 63 paisa and Rs 1.06 a litre respectively. The new rates came into effect midnight, January 1, 2016.
Petrol is now available for Rs 59.35/litre in Delhi while diesel is retailing for Rs 45.03/litre.
The drop in prices would have been a lot sharper had the government not increased the excise duty on petrol and disel by 30 paisa and Rs 1.17/litre respectively in the second half of December.
