The NYPD Smart ForTwo will use the regular car's rear engine rear wheel-drive layout.

The 898cc turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine cranks out 88bhp and 135.5Nm of torque.

The car is available with manual and automatic gearbox options, with the automatic the most likely choice for the cops.

The NYPD Smart ForTwo's feature the usual police decals on the exterior with what must be the smallest light bar fitted on a cop car (which support the iconic blue and red strobe lights) patrolling the streets of the 'City That Never Sleeps'.
