India’s First Hybrid SUV Nissan X-Trail Launch Revealed
India's hybrid vehicle segment will be boosted with the launch of Nissan X-Trail, the first hybrid SUV in the country. The Japanese automaker will launch the X-Trail hybrid in India in December 2016.
The SUV was first showcased during the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and has been spotted testing in the country afew months back. The Nissan X-Trail hybrid will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) units and will attract a price tag in the range of Rs 30 - 35 lakh.
India will be the 4th market to get the Nissan X-Trail hybrid from the Japanese automaker. The upcoming X-Trail hybrid will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol mill coupled with a 32kw electric motor mated to an X-Tronic CVT gearbox. Also seen is All-Wheel Drive system on the Nissan X-Trail coming to India.
The Nissan X-Trail coming to India is the third-generation and was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. The new model is bigger with better cabin space and is designed on CNF-C platform and will be a 5-seater.
The Nissan X-Trail is not new to India, it was first introduced in India back in 2005 was on sale till 2014. Now, it is coming back in the hybrid avatar with some updates in features and the powertrain.
