Nissan India Redefines Models & Variants By Discontinuing A Few
Nissan India has opted to redefine its models and variants on offer in the country. The Micra, Micra Active, Sunny, and Terrano witness dramatic changes. There are no cosmetic or mechanical changes carried out on any of the models.
The automobile manufacturer has decided to reduce the number of variants it offers. Nissan will be prioritising certain models, in an attempt to improve sales. This may come as good news for some, while others might completely dislike Nissan's action, so let's take a look.
The Micra Active will now be available only in three variants for the Indian market. The base variant has been discontinued and the Micra Active will get a petrol engine mated to a manual transmission. The Micra Active XL is priced at 4.56 lakh, XV costs Rs. 4.84 lakh, and XV S trim attracts Rs. 5.30 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
Only two variants each will be included in the Nissan Micra hatchback. The diesel-powered Micra will be available at Rs. 6.49 lakh for XL trim and the XL Comfort will cost Rs. 7.03 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The petrol-powered Micra will be mated to a CVT, which is available in XL and XV variants. Micra XL CVT is priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh and XV CVT costs Rs. 6.80 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Sunny sedan will not be offered in XV D Premium trim from Nissan. CVT option will be offered only in the VX variant. The Nissan Terrano compact SUV will be available in two 85bhp diesel variants XE and XL Plus, 110bhp diesel gets only XV premium variant. The petrol-powered Terrano will be offered only in the XL variant.
