Nissan India Sets Record Exports During September 2016
Nissan India is taking the 'Make In India' initiative extremely seriously. The Japanese-based automobile manufacturer has managed to export 11,999 units from its Indian facility. This record feat was achieved during September 2016, from their Oragadam manufacturing plant.
Exported models include both Nissan and Datsun models from India. Nissan India witnessed a growth of 20 percent during September 2016 over the corresponding period. The Japanese-based manufacturer was the best exporter from India during September 2016.
Currently, automobiles are manufactured in Oragadam, Chennai at Renault-Nissan Alliance facility. Both manufacturers are making the most of ‘Make In India' initiative. Sales in India, as well as exports from the country, will aid the manufacturer in growing further.
Datsun India recently commenced export of redi-GO to Nepal, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Previously, the GO hatchback and GO+ compact station wagon were already being exported. Nissan India currently has employed over 40,000 directly and indirectly.
