Nissan GT-R Launched In India; Priced At Rs 1.99 Crore — Godzilla Is Here
Nissan's manic GT-R, the car known as Godzilla to its faithful fan base has finally entered India.
Japanese carmaker Nissan has launched the 2017 GT-R supercar in India. The Nissan GT-R is priced at Rs 1.99 crore ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Nissan GT-R is 4,710mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,370mm tall. The Japanese supercar has a 2,780mm long wheelbase.
Powering the GT-R which is known as 'Godzilla' by its loyal fan base is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that cranks out 562bhp @ 6,800rpm and 637Nm of torque @ 3,600 - 5,800rpm.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends the power to all four wheels.
Thanks to its four-wheel-drive system, the Nissan GT-R will sprint from 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds and will keep on accelerating till it hits 315km/h despite weighing in at 1752 kilograms.
Design wise, the 2017 Nissan GT-R features a redesigned look compared to earlier editions including the one seen at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
Up front, the GT-R sports Nissan's trademark V-motion Grille which is finished in matte black. The front bumper bumper features angular air vents which sit under the headlamps and play host to strips of LED Daytime Running Lights.
The GT-R sits on 20-inch 'Y-spoke' alloy wheels that are shod with 255/40 R20 (front) and 285/35 R20 (rear) tyres.
At the rear, the the GT-R's trademark round tail lamps will help any enthusiast present identify Godzilla once it whizzes away.
Also present is a spoiler and quad exhaust (two on each end of the bumper).
Inside, the 2017 GT-R features an all new interior compared to previous models. Nissan has dropped the button loaded centre console for an 8-inch touchscreen display that shows you everything that is going on in the car including how many Gs you pulled in the last corner.
The steering wheel still features many buttons but now has the paddle shifters attached to it which should prove to be a help if you need to change gears while twisting it around.
The new Nissan GT-R is available in seven different colours - Katsura Orange, Pearl Black, Gun Metallic, Ultimate Silver, Daytona Blue, Vibrant Red, and Storm White.
