Nissan Delivers 4,200 Cars For Use During The 2016 Rio Olympic Games
Japanese carmaker Nissan has delivered 4,200 cars to the to the Rio 2016 organizing committee for use in the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games in August.
The Japanese carmaker is one of the official sponsors of the Rio Olympics.
Hortência Marcari, a former basketball player who won silver at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta,accepted a symbolic key from the head of Nissan's Brazilian operations, François Dossa, on behalf of the athletes of Brazil.
Among the 4,200 cars delivered are 200 units of the upcoming Nissan Kicks crossover which is the official car of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The Nissan Kicks has not been launched yet and the 200 vehicles
Other cars delivered included the Nissan Leaf, March, Versa, Sentra, Altima and the Frontier pickup truck.
All 4,200 cars will be used to transport athletes during the Olympics. The Brazilian team for the Olympics will be using Nissan's electric hatchback, the leaf, during the course of the Olympics.
A team of 750 volunteers will take care of the cars during the Olympics.
