New Suzuki Wagon R StingRay Leaked - India Bound?
Suzuki's new Wagon R brings with it a new design which would look out of place on a certain Cadillac SUV.
Suzuki's next Wagon R hatchback for the Japanese market has been leaked and it brings with quite a few design changes which could make its way onto the Indian version of the car.
The new Wagon R retains its tall-boy design but brings in a few design tweaks that make it look more muscular aggressive than the current car.
The front end of the new Wagon R (first image) is totally new with vertically stacked headlights flanking a large rectangular grille that is split down the middle into two chromed out parts by a large plastic slat that houses the Suzuki badge.
Thanks to the larger grille the front bumper is now slimmer and features a smaller air dam.
At the sides, the new Wagon R features a cladding that combined with the slightly flared out wheel arches give the new Wagon R a more beefy look.
The windshield is more sharply raked and the B pillar narrows down as it reaches the roof.
The new Wagon R Stingray for Japan remains a kei car, and is restricted to a 658cc inline three cylinder engine.
However, the Indian variant is expected to carry over the 1.0-litre K Series engine which will be mated a 5-speed manual gearbox with an AMT gearbox expected to be offered as well.
The new Wagon R StingRay is expected to come to India by 2018 and will provide a welcome refresh to the Wagon R lineup which hasn't changed since 2013.
