Mini Clubman India Launch Date Revealed
The 2016 Mini Countryman is the longest Mini yet and is set to launch in India in the upcoming fortnight.
British carmaker Mini revealed the new Clubman estate in June 2015 as a longer extended version of the Cooper hatchback with a wacky six-door configuration.
Now, Mini has confirmed that the largest vehicle in its range will be launched in India on December 15. Let's take a look at the Countryman and what it has to offer for Mini fans in India.
The 2016 Mini Clubman is 4,253mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,441mm tall. The Clubman has a 2,670mm long wheelbase.
The new Mini Clubman estate will be available in India with both petrol and diesel engines which are expected to be offered with 8-speed automatic gearboxes.
The petrol variants of the Clubman will use a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 187bhp and 280Nm of torque. The torque figure can be cranked up to 300Nm thanks to an overboost function.
The diesel variants of the Clubman also use of 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 187bhp and 400Nm of torque.
The petrol powered Clubman will sprint to 100km/h from standstill in 6.9 seconds and onward to a top speed of 225km/l. The diesel powered Clubman is slower to 100km/h by 0.2 seconds and has a top speed of 222km/l.
The Clubman will be imported into India as a CBU and prices for the Mini Estate are expected to hover around Rs 40 lakh.
