Mexico! Yes, the North American country has emerged as the top destination for auto exports from India, followed by Nepal and the UK in second and third position respectively.

India's auto exports comprises of automobiles, two and three-wheelers, and auto components. Automobile exports increased by 4 percent at a time when the overall engineering exports for the period of April – July dropped by 5.82 percent.

Of the total automobile exports shipped out of India, data shows that automobiles worth $501 million were shipped to Mexico, followed by $157 million worth automobiles shipped to Nepal and $130 million shipped to the UK.

Exports to Mexico saw a rise of 110 percent during the April – July period, while exports to Nepal witnessed 122 percent increase. UK recorded the least at 22 percent hike in exports.
