Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet Launched In India At Rs 2.25 Crore
Mercedes has launched its flagship convertible in the form of the S500 Cabriolet in India.
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the S-Class Cabriolet in India. The S-Class Cabriolet is priced at Rs. 2.25 crore ex-showroom (Delhi). The S-Class Cabriolet has been launched in the S500 guise in India.
The new S-Class Cabriolet is the first S-Class convertible that Mercedes has introduced since 1971.
The S500 is powered by a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which generates 442bhp of power and 700Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox which sends the power to the rear wheels. The S500 will sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and onward to a top speed of 250km/h.
Design wise, the new S-Class cabriolet features the same design cues as the its hard-top sibling.
The roof of the cabriolet is made of three layers of fabric and is available in four different colours - black, brown, blue, and red.
The fabric-top roof can be lowered and raised up in 17 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h.
The interiors of the S-Class cabriolet are swathed in leather, wood along with aluminium.
The interiors will be available in nine different shades and with six different upholstery options.
Also present is 23 speaker Burmester sound system with 24 amplifier channels and kicking out 1,520 watts.
The S-Class Cabriolet has added a whole lot of safety features to keep the occupants of the S-Class cabrio safe including multiple airbags, automatic parking with a 360 degree camera, a night view assist system which helps detect obstacles on the road while driving in the night.
Also present Merc's Pre-safe system that detects critical driving situations and reacts accordingly by raising the windows, tensing up the seatbelts to keep the passengers safe if an accident occurs.
Mercedes is offering the new S-Class Cabriolet with its Star Ease maintenance package for just Rs. 73,000 for two years.
The new Mercedes S500 Cabriolet will compete with the likes of the Bentley Continental GTC in India.
