Mercedes Set To Continue With Hamilton & Rosberg Up To 2018
Mercedes-AMG Petronas has confirmed their driver line-up for the upcoming season. The German-based Formula One team has opted to continue with two number one drivers. Both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have received their contracts.
Hamilton and Rosberg have both been signed with Mercedes-AMG Petronas up to the 2018 Formula One Championship. Both drivers have been confirmed equal status in the Formula One team. Toto Wolff is confident that Rosberg and Hamilton will continue their winning success.
Recently, Mercedes-AMG Petronas officials had a tough time with both drivers. Both drivers have been warned and if the conflict continues team orders will be announced. Rosberg and Hamilton had clashed and compromised the race result.
Both Rosberg and Hamilton are fighting for the 2016 Formula One Championship. The duo is separated by a single point and are far ahead of the competition. An intense battle is expected to unfold as the season nears the finale.
Nico Rosberg announced a two-year extension with Mercedes ahead of the Hungarian GP. Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, was offered a three-year contract last year itself. It will be interesting to see how the duo co-exists next year when the rule and car changes are implemented.
