Mercedes-Benz Open Warehouse And Vehicle ‘Preparation’ Centre In Pune
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated its parts warehouse and vehicle preparation centre in Pune, along with its largest training academy in South Asia. Mercedes-Benz is clearly gearing up for its next phase of expansion in India.
Mercedes' parts warehouse is spread over an area of 16,500 square metres and has the capacity to store 44,000 spare parts. This is targeted to improve operational efficiency and make spares easily available for end customers, resulting in better after sales satisfaction for customers.
The vehicle preperation centre on the other hand, is a place where Mercedes will store, maintain, and prepare vehicles to be distributed to dealers. The vehicle preperation centre has the capacity to store 5,700 vehicles, spread over five floors. Mercedes has invested Rs. 1.5 crore for the preparation centre, and the place has the potential to store vehicles for Mercedes' Indian requirement till 2024.
Coming to the carmaker's retail training academy, called Mercedes-Benz Academy, has the capacity to train 225 people per day, across the luxury carmaker's dealerships in India. The move by Mercedes-Benz does highlight the carmaker's confidence in India.
