Mercedes Is Riding The SUV Wave — Globally 40 Percent Increase In Sales
Mercedes-Benz becomes one of the best-selling luxury car maker in the world, as the German auto giant sells more than 1,56,000 vehicles in the month of August. Coming to the numbers, from January to August, Mercedes has sold 13,26,635 cars, a 11.7 percent of increase in sales compared to last year.
The main reason for this development is rise in sales of SUV, Mercedes sold 56,286 SUVs in the month of August. The most selling SUV is the GLE, which is going to get a facelift next year. This trend of SUVs is expected to continue in the following years.
Mercedes-Benz is all geared up with refreshed models, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz-AMG GLC43 Coupe will hit the market in first quarter of 2017 and it will be followed by a revised GLA. Mercedes will also launch company's first ever pick-up truck later in 2017.
Mercedes-Benz will launch a new generation GLE SUV in 2018, with both petrol and diesel variants, a hybrid version of the SUV is also speculated. The firm is also working on Geländewagen, the G-Class offroader, which is likely to launch in 2018 or 2019.
