Mercedes-Benz India Recalls Old C Class Due To Airbag Issue
Mercedes-Benz India will be recalling several of its older generation C Class models. The vehicles seem to have a faulty airbag control unit which could not deploy in case of an accident. There is also a possibility of the airbags being deployed without any reason.
So far, the number of C Class models being recalled in India has not been revealed. Only the models manufactured during 2008 to 2009 by Mercedes-Benz are being recalled silently. Previously, the German manufacturer issued a similar recall of C Class in the USA as well.
The German-based automobile manufacturer will be contacting customers directly. Mercedes-Benz will be taking care of repair work or replacement of parts related to the issue free of cost. It would take roughly four hours to rectify the issue and an appointment needs to be made with the service centre.
Recently, Volkswagen, Honda, Mahindra Ford, and Mitsubishi has issued voluntary recalls. In India there is no recall policy, however, several manufacturers are silently recalling vehicles. The goal is to instil faith and trust in the customer's mind by replacing faulty equipment.
