Mercedes-Benz To Launch GLC SUV That Has No Indian Predecessor
Mercedes-Benz India continues with their aggressive launch strategy.The GLC SUV will be launching in the Indian market on June 2, 2016. With the GLC, Mercedes-Benz plans to bridge the gap between GLA and GLE SUV models in the Indian market.
Under the hood of Mercedes-Benz GLC, will be an optional petrol and diesel engine. Indian market is most likely to receive the GLC 250d, GLC 220d diesel models. While petrol-powered SUV will get a single option in the form of the GLC200.
Both petrol and diesel engine will be mated to a 9-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. Mercedes-Benz could offer customers an optional 4Matic variant as well. The GLC by Mercedes-Benz will be capable of serious off-roading and will sport various terrain modes.
The GLC by Mercedes-Benz is most likely to bear a starting price of Rs. 35 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh ex-showroom. Mercedes is promoting the GLC SUV by saying that it 'Makes the Best of Every Ground'. Once launched, GLC by Mercedes-Benz will take on the likes of Audi Q5 and BMW X3 models in the Indian market.
