The company sold 10,051 units in the month of October. Vitara Brezza was followed by Hyundai's best selling Creta SUV and the company managed to sell 8,670 units.
With the strong sales of Brezza, Maruti sold 18,008 units last month, against 9,435 units in the same period last year. The company thereby registered a growth of 90.9 percent.
This is fourth consecutive month Vitara Brezza is topping the chart as the best-selling compact SUV and this is the second time that the vehicle is achieving 10,000+ units monthly sales after July 2016.
In September 2016, the company sold 9,375 units, while the competitor Creta found 8,835 takers.
The company has sold more than 50,000 units of Vitara Brezza since its launch. The same number of vehicles are yet to be delivered. Depending upon the model, the waiting period stands at seven months.
Still, Maruti Suzuki is struggling to meet the demand, even though it increased the production of the SUV to 10,000 units from July.
Powering the vehicle is a 200 DDis 1.20-litre diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
For 2017, the company is developing Vitara Brezza Petrol and AMT variant. When these models are launched, the demand for the vehicle will increase and the sales gap between the competitors are expected to widen.
