The reports suggest that the Ignis will be powered by 1-litre Boosterjet three-cylinder petrol engine. Initially the mini crossover will be offered only in petrol variant.
The transmission options include five-speed manual gearbox and AMT may be offered on the Boosterjet or normal engine. It is said that Ignis will also get 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel workhorse.
The exterior of the mini crossover features LED daytime running lights, flared wheel arches, wide C-pillar and high ground clearance of 180mm.
The interior of the Ignis is expected to sport high-end Harman Kardon audio system. It may also get safety features such as airbags, ABS with EBD and hill descent control.
The Ignis will be sold through Maruti Suzuki's premium dealership NEXA. When launched the Ignis will go head on against Mahindra KUV 100.
The mini crossover is expected to be launched with a price tag starting from Rs 5.5 lakh. Suzuki Ignis all-wheel-drive is already sold in the Japanese market. But Maruti Suzuki has not revealed about its availability in India.
