Maruti Suzuki Ignis Launch Delayed Due To Production Constraints
The launch of Maruti Suzuki Ignis in India is delayed beacuse of production constraints caused by high demand for Baleno hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki's latest venture in the compact crossover segment, the Ignis was supposed to hit the Indian market by this festive season.
The Ignis was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept model. The launch of this crossover has been delayed due to production constraints.
With the success of Baleno hatchback, Maruti Suzuki is finding it hard to cater all the customers in time who has booked the Baleno. This has been the main reason for the delay of Ignis launch in India.
It is expected that the Ignis will hit the Indian market by early 2017. When launched the Ignis will be pitted against the Mahindra KUV 100 launched a few months ago.
The upcoming crossover from Maruti Suzuki will look to lure customers away from the hatchback segment to crossover segment.
Maruti Suzuki is betting high on the Ignis in the Indian market. The production version of the Ignis will be almost identical to the concept version showcased at the Auto Expo.
The boxy body shape of Ignis gets a sporty front grille, projector headlamp, daytime running lights, roof rails, plastic body cladding and alloy wheels.
The Ignis is equipped with an all-new interior which features new steering wheel, part digital instrument cluster, dual-tone dashboard and standalone infotainment screen. The Ignis will be a five-seater compared to six-seater option of KUV 100.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis is expected as an another best selling product in the Indian market. But before that Maruti Suzuki should rectify its production constraints and launch the Ignis in the market in near future.
