Made-In-India Maruti Suzuki Baleno Wins Irish ‘Small Car Of The Year’ Award For 2017
Made-in-India Maruti Suzuki Baleno better known as the Suzuki Baleno as been voted as the Irish Small Car Of The Year award in 2017
The Suzuki Baleno, as it is known in the international markets, was awarded the title of Irish 'Small Car Of The Year' 2017.
The Japanese automaker's popular hatchback won the Small Car category at the 2017 Irish Car Of The Year ceremony following a test program where 33 of the Ireland's motoring writers came together to the vote for the best new cars in the market.
Dale Wyatt, Director of Automobile, said that this award is really a positive news for the company as the launch of the Baleno has opened up further opportunities to reach some important new buyers in the crowded small car segment.
He further added that the Baleno appeals to customers who are looking for a more rational choice than Swift with extra interior space and larger boot, but who do not want to move up to in size of a Vitara or the S-Cross.
The Baleno for the Irish market is comes powered which a choice of two petrol mills: the 109bhp 1.0-litre Booster Jet and the 89bhp 1.2-litre Dualjet with Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS).
The list of equipment will depend on the selected variant which could include six airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, HID headlights, satellite navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control with speed limiter among others.
The Baleno is exclusively manufactured in India was launched a year back and has crossed the one lakh milestone and commands a waiting period of nearly six months.
Maruti Suzuki is expanding its capacity by adding shifts to cater to the waiting customers.
Maruti Suzuki will soon launch a new and a powerful variant, the Baleno RS which will be powered by the 1.0-litre Booster Jet turbocharged petrol engine which churns out 109bhp and 170Nm of peak torque.
