Maruti Suzuki Baleno Now Comes With Important Child Safety Feature As Standard
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno now comes with ISOFIX anchorage as standard.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is now available with ISOFIX anchorage mounts as standard safety equipment which will increase its appeal to customers with young children.
The ISOFIX anchorage mounts ensure that the Baleno will comply with the upcoming Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) safety standards which will come into effect in 2017.
The ISOFIX mounts allow owners to affix child seats to the rear bench seat and to the rear tray behind the rear headrests of the car which will make it safer for small children to travel in the Baleno.
Other than the new ISOFIX mounts, the Baleno comes equipped with other safety features including as dual airbags, ABS,and EBD among many others.
Under the hood, the Baleno is available with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces 84 bhp and 114Nm of torque while the diesel powerplant cranks out 74 bhp and 190Nm of torque.
A more powerful version of the Baleno which will bear the RS badge is expected to arrive in India in early 2017 with a new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 110bhp.
