Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Could Get ISOFIX Mounts As A Safety Feature

The ISOFIX mounts are usually seen in premium segment vehicles and these are attachment points which is used to anchor the child seat to the car's rear bench seat. This will ensure the child seat is held securely in place.

The mounts are designed to secure a combined weight of 33kg. The ISOFIX mounts minimisethe risk of injury in case of a collision once the child seat is strapped to the seat and securely anchored.

Maruti Ciaz main rival is the Honda City which offers ISOFIX mounts as standard across its variants.

Using seat belts to secure a child seat is not advisable as attaching a child seat using it is a harder task. The ISOFIX mounts is a much easier task, also, seat belts are not a perfect attachment of the child seat to the car.

The ISOFIX mounts are much safer and stronger as it keeps the child seat in the dedicated position even in the case of anhard accident.

Maruti offers the Ciaz in petrol and diesel units, while the petrol is a 1.4-litre mill, the diesel unit is 1.3-litre engine Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki (SHVS).

On the safety front, the current Ciaz is equipped with standard driver's airbags, while the co-drivers airbag, Seat Belt Pretensioner & Force Limiters and ABS is optional.
