Indian Government is trying to make our roads a safer place to be on. Several safety features will be adopted on automobiles sold in India. Now, rear parking sensors will be standard safety equipment on all four-wheelers sold in the country.

Currently, most automobile manufacturers offer rear parking sensor as additional equipment on top-end variants. A new rule will soon be passed by the Indian Government to standardise rear parking sensors on all automobiles sold in the Indian market.

Rear Parking Sensor

Main reason for standardising rear parking sensors is to reduce accident. There is always a possibility while reversing that a vehicle could collide with pedestrians. Rear parking sensors could reduce the chance of such accidents and thus become a safer to place to drive and walk.

Airbags and Speed Warning System are also planned on becoming mandatory on Indian vehicles. The majority of accidents caused in India are due to over speeding. Just like the beep heard when one does not wear seat belts will be used to notify drivers about over speeding.

For the very first time, India will be hosting 2017 World Road Meeting. It is a four-day event organised by International Road Federations. The event will be held between November 14 to 17, 2017, over 3,000 road safety, infrastructure and transport experts from all over the world will be in attendance.
