Mahindra Launches The Scorpio With Intelli-Hybrid Technology
Mahindra has introduced the Intelli-Hybrid technology on select variants of the Scorpio. The Intelli-Hybrid system from Mahindra improves fuel-efficiency by seven percent. All-new Intelli-Hybrid Scorpio will be available across India from July 2016.
Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid will be available only on the S4, S4+, S4+ 4WD, S6+, S8, S10, and S10 4WD. Mahindra has priced the Scorpio S10 2WD at Rs. 12.48 lakh ex-showroom (Navi Mumbai). The Intelli-Hybrid will be fitted only with the 2.2-litre mHAWK diesel engine.
The Intelli-Hybrid system includes an electric motor for acceleration. Mahindra will also be equipping the engine with automatic start/ stop when stationary. Regenerative braking will also be used to recharge the battery, which is otherwise wasted.
The Indian-based manufacturer could soon introduce its all-new Intelli-Hybrid system to other models as well. Mahindra has developed the technology completely in-house and will be offering it first on their true SUV the Scorpio. Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming launches from Mahindra.
