Mahindra Offers Scholarship To Girl Child Of Truck Drivers

Mahindra & Mahindra is constantly undertaking various initiatives within India to improve the world. Now Mahindra Truck and Bus Division provided scholarship to the girl child of truck drivers in the country.

The Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan recently felicitated fourteen girls. They were the daughters of truck drivers, the initiative is planned at providing girls with higher education in India. Each girl child received Rs. 10,000 as part of the scholarship, they were also provided with a certificate.

Over 1,300 applicants were accepted from hub locations. Mahindra asked PwC to help them in authenticating documents. They also helped in setting up a guideline to ensure a consistent process. Road shows at dhabas, direct activities, and branding at Transport Nagars was used to promote Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan.

Only those who had completed tenth standard were accepted for the scholarship. Mahindra wants to show truck owners that they care about them. The Indian manufacturer appreciates the fact that truck drivers help their daughters in studying despite the odds.
