Mahindra Quanto Facelift Could Launch By March 2016 In India
Mahindra & Mahindra is revamping their entire product lineup in the domestic as well as in the international market. Now the Indian manufacturer plans on providing its Quanto compact SUV with a much needed facelift for 2016.
In recent times, an all-new Quanto in camouflage was caught on multiple occasions. Mahindra was expected to introduce the 2016 Quanto at the recently concluded Auto Expo in Delhi. The Indian automobile giant is now most likely to launch the new Quanto sometime during March.
Under the hood Mahindra will provide the Quanto with their new mHawk80 engine. The 1.3-litre diesel, three-cylinder engine will produce 84bhp, along with 230Nm of torque. Mahindra engineers will equip the engine with an optional AMT and 5-speed manual gearbox.
Both interior and exterior design of the 2016 Quanto will be updated for a more appealing design. Several design cues will be borrowed from the newly launched TUV3OO and KUV1OO models by Mahindra. 2016 Quanto will be more SUV-like and will shed off its resemblance with the Xylo.
First-gen Quanto was introduced in India by Mahindra during 2012. The compact SUV back then did not impress Indian buyers and witnessed poor sales. Mahindra & Mahindra is hoping to garner more sales with the updated Quanto than it did earlier.
