Spy Pics: Mahindra's Innova Rival Spotted Testing
Indian carmaker Mahindra's upcoming rival for the Toyota Innova Crysta has been spotted testing once again. The test mule was spotted on the Ulundurpet expressway in Tamil Nadu.
The unnamed Mahindra MPV will hit the Indian market in the second half of 2017 and Mahindra is expected to price it quite aggressively to help it counter the Innova.
Design wise, the MPV features a curvy front end with angular headlamps flanking the grille (which was missing on the test mule. The test mule also sports a rather angular windshield as well which slopes down at quite an angle.
The rear end of the MPV mule was quite heavily camouflaged and the cabin extends for a fair bit behind the C-Pillar which is expected to play host to a third row of seats.
The new MPV is expected to be powered by either the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel producing 140bhp and 330Nm of torque or the 1.99-litre version of the engine which pushes out 140bhp and 320Nm of torque. Mahindra's upcoming petrol engine for the Scorpio could also make its way to the new MPV if needed.
