Lewis Hamilton Dedicates Canadian GP Win To Muhammad Ali
Lewis Hamilton sat on pole position for the Canadian GP, however, a lightning fast start from Sebastian Vettel made him take the lead. Mercedes woes continued as team-mates Rosberg and Hamilton clashed once again at turn one, ruining Rosberg's race and podium hopes.
Ferrari displayed excellent pace initially and kept the Mercedes at bay. Surprisingly, Vettel was called in for a tyre change a little too early for the super soft options. Other teams and drivers extended their stint on the ultra-soft option for a one-stop race.
Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton traded fastest laps, on almost every lap. Eventually, Ferrari realised that their tyre strategy went wrong and it would prove extremely difficult for Vettel to claw back the gap between him and Hamilton.
In the background, Nico Rosberg provided an interesting spectacle as he clawed back positions. Rosberg clearly had the pace to run with Hamilton and Vettel, however, the turn one collision ruined his race strategy. For fans, it became interesting as he was the man on the move.
Hamilton won the strategic battle against Vettel and Ferrari. During his victory lap, Hamilton announced that his Canadian win was dedicated to the legendary boxer, late Muhammad Ali. Lewis was heard on the team radio stating that he was floating like a butterfly and stung like a bee at the Canadian GP.
