KickStart: A Cab Service In Bengaluru For People With Disabilities
KickStart is a cab service in the metro city Bengaluru specially for people with disabilities.
In our day-to-day life we have seen how people with disabilities face problem in the public transport. People with different kind of disabilities are not comfortable with normal cars or buses.
But this Bengaluru-based cab service facility aims at providing hassle-free transportation option for people with disabilities. Yes, KickStarter is a cab service for disabled people with specially designed vehicles.
Apart from that, even elderly people who have difficulty in getting in and out of a regular vehicle can make use of this cab service. The KickStart cab service is backed by Mphasis Foundation.
The KickStart fleet includes specially designed vehicles to help easy access of the vehicle to disabled people. Some cars come with ramps on the boot to help users on a wheelchair.
The turn out wheelchair model features a front seat which is detachable to help people with knee issues and having problem in boarding the vehicle.
The front passenger seat can be removed and can be attached to a wheelchair frame to convert it to a regular wheelchair. The cabs can be booked online through their website.
A two-hour trip for a distance of 20kms in a KickStart cab costs Rs 800. And for every extra kilometre, customers have to pay Rs 20/km. An extra hour trip will cost additional Rs 200/hour.
The company also offers packages for office, pickup and drop, airport and railway station drops and even outstation trips. The cab service is co-founded by Vidhya Ramasubban who works in disability sector.
