Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk India Launch Confirmed
Jeep will introduce its petrol range of vehicles in India in December with the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and the Wrangler
Jeep entered India with its diesel-powered Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler range of SUVs. Now, the American company is looking bring its petrol range of SUVs in the month of December.
Jeep will debut the Trailhawk range along with the petrol motor in India in December 2016. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will be powered by the 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. Also, debuting will be the petrol model of the Wrangler.
The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk petrol model will use Jeep's Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) and the Selec-Speed Control with Hill Ascent Control.
Part of the package of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, the SUV gets unique skid plates and a special anti-glare hood decal. The SUV will also get a removable front fascia which allows the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to increase its approach angle from 29.8 degrees to 36.1 degrees.
The break over angle of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is 27.1 degrees and the departure angle is 22.8 degrees. The SUV is 10.8 inches in ground clearance higher than its diesel sibling attributed to the tweaks in the suspension.
The exterior feature added with the new unique grille which made its debut in the Jeep 75th-anniversary models, a couple of red tow hooks at the front and back. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will get an 18-inch wheel as standard.
The company is offering the 20-inch wheels with a unique Goodyear Adventure off-road rubber with Kevlar reinforcement as an option. Other additional features include the badging of special Trailhawk and Trail Rated.
As for the interiors, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has its own unique black interior with leather/ suede seats complimented with red contrast stitching. It also gets piano-black and gunmetal finish trim.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is powered by the 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine capable of producing 295bhp and 353Nm of torque which is tied with the 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The petrol powered Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will be priced around Rs 15 lakh cheaper than the diesel variant. The Grand Cherokee diesel variants startfrom Rs 93.64 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.03 crore.
Jeep also sells the Grand Cherokee SRT high-performance SUV with the Hemi V8 unit and is priced at Rs 1.12 crore.
