Jaguar Land Rover Inaugurates Manufacturing Unit Out Of UK
Jaguar Land Rover has inaugurated its very first wholly-owned manufacturing unit out of the United Kingdom. The new facility is based in Itatiaia, Brazil, and was inaugurated on June 14, 2016. It is also the first United Kingdom based automotive facility in Latin America.
The new facility will be utilised to build vehicles for the Brazilian market initially. The Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport will be the first products to be manufactured at the Brazilian facility. The Brazilian built Jaguar Land Rover products will be available by June itself.
Present at the inauguration of Jaguar Land Rover's facility in Brazil was Wolfgang Stadler, the Executive Director of Manufacturing. He expressed that inaugurating the Brazilian facility is a key milestone in their global expansion program.
An Education Business Partnership Centre was also inaugurated by Jaguar Land Rover. Several classroom activities will be organised for over 12,000 local children per year in Brazil. They will help children develop work awareness and key skills to pursue careers at Jaguar Land Rover.
