Jaguar D-Type Becomes The Most Valuable British Car Sold At Auction
The 1956 Le Mans 24-hour endurance race winner Jaguar D-Type becomes the most valuable British car sold at the RM Sotheby's auction at Pebble Beach in Monterey, California. The Jaguar sold for a price of $21.78 million.
The Jaguar D-Type was built in 1955. Its racing history and the immaculate condition and original features made this car a very valuable asset.

The Scottish team achieved a top speed of 251km/h down the Mulsanne Straight. The Jaguar D-Type is powered by a 3.4-litre engine which developed 245bhp. While testing, Jaguar managed to hit 271km/h.
