Isuzu MU-X India Launch 2016-end; Endeavour & Fortuner Competitor
Isuzu Motors plans to launch several products in the Indian market. Previously, Isuzu entered the country with the MU-7 and D-Max models in the country. Now the Japanese-based manufacturer plans on launching the MU-X model in India by 2016-end.
Internationally, the Isuzu MU-X is powered by a 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 174.58bhp and 380Nm of torque. The India-bound MU-X is most likely to feature the same engine under the hood. An automatic and manual gearbox option will be offered in the MU-X.
Interiors will be premium and luxurious as the Isuzu MU-X competes with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The MU-X will be offered in a 5-seater and 7-seater option. Expect Isuzu to price the MU-X model in India within Rs. 25 lakh ex-showroom for the base variant.
The MU-X is most likely to be assembled locally at Isuzu's facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Previously, Isuzu Motors was importing all of its offerings as Completely Built Units for the Indian market. Heavy localisation could boost sales for Isuzu in the country.
