Ever Fancied A Titanium Sports Car? Introducing The Vulcano Titanium
In the modern world, there are no boundaries for imagination as to how your car should look and feel. But have you ever imagined owning a car made of Titanium and though 'not possible'. Well, now it is possible since Icona is selling a car made of titanium, called the Vulcano Titanium.
Icona is a design house and coach building company founded in Turin, Italy, and based in Shanghai.
The Vulcano was first showcased as a concept during the 2013 Shanghai Motor show. When showcased for the first time, it was made of aluminium and composite materials, primarily to showcase Icona's talents.
Later, in 2015, the car was again showcased during at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but this time with a titanium body. Now, the car is for sale, for a whopping price of USD 2.78 million.
Speaking about power, the Vulcano Titanium draws power from a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The engine is placed in the front, but behind the front axle, giving the car better handling.
A paddle shift gearbox delivers 620bhp to the rear wheels and the carmaker claims that the Vulcano can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 354km/h.
The car also features forged 20-inch front and 21-inch rear aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres. Other features include carbon ceramic disc brakes, carbon fibre cabin and seats, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
