2016 Hyundai Tucson Commences Road Testing In India
Hyundai Motors showcased the all-new Tucson premium SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Now the Korean-based automobile manufacturer has commenced testing out on Indian roads. This hints that the 2016 Tucson could be launching in India sooner than anticipated.
In the Indian market, Hyundai Motors will place the Tucson in between their Creta and Santa Fe model. The Tucson is most likely to be launched in India around the festive season. Hyundai Motor will introduce the Tucson in India through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.
Under the hood of Hyundai Tucson will be 1.7-litre turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is expected to produce 140bhp, along with 340Nm of torque and will be mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. An optional 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine could also be on offer by Hyundai.
The Tucson by Hyundai is most likely to bear a price tag between Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh ex-showroom. Once launched, the Hyundai Tucson will compete against the likes of Mahindra XUV5OO and Skoda's Yeti model in India.
