Hyundai Is Set To Launch The Tucson In India During The Festive Season
Hyundai Motors had showcased the all-new Tucson SUV in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. Now, the Korean-based automobile manufacturer plans on launching the Tucson in India sometime during 2016-end. The all-new Tucson will be placed in between the Santa Fe and Creta.
Under the hood could be an option between a 2.0-litre or 1.6-litre diesel engine. The ban on the sale of diesel vehicles over 2,000cc could mean that Hyundai equips the Tucson with the smaller engine. Hyundai engineers will mate the engine to both manual and automatic transmission.
The Tucson will be introduced during the festive season in India. Hyundai Motors India is expecting to sell approximately 15,000 to 25,000 units of the SUV annually. At this moment, Hyundai has not confirmed the engine and features that will be offered in the Indian-spec Tucson.
Once launched, the Hyundai Tucson in India will cost approximately Rs. 16 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom. Hyundai Tucson will compete with the Honda CR-V and the next-gen Renault Duster in India. Stay tuned for more updates from Hyundai and its upcoming launches.
