New Hyundai Tucson To Debut In India At 2016 Auto Expo

Hyundai Motors will be bringing an all-new premium SUV to Indian shores. The Korean automobile manufacturer will debut the new Tucson in India at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The Tucson will be launched in India post its 2016 Auto Expo debut.

Currently, Hyundai offers the Tucson with a 1.6-litre and 1.7-litre petrol engine options. A single diesel engine is also provided in the form of a 2.0-litre engine. Hyundai Motors offers a choice between 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission.

At this point, Hyundai offers the Creta compact SUV and Santa Fe SUV models in India. The Tucson will be placed in between both models. There is a high possibility that the vehicle will be initially offered as a CBU (Completely Built Unit).

Once launched in India, the Tucson will be identical to international models. The premium SUV will feature several safety equipment as standard. Hyundai will provide the Tucson with Smart parking Assist System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Autonomous Braking, Blind Spot Assistance and many more.

Hyundai Tucson will have a tough task keeping up with the Indian competition. The segment consists of Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and the soon to be launched Volkswagen Tiguan and Renault Koleos. Tucson is expected to bear a starting price of Rs. 25 lakh ex-showroom.
