New Luxury Carmaker To Enter India In 2020

Korean automaker Hyundai is planning to bring its luxury brand, Genesis to India by the year 2020.

In an interview with The Times Of India, Hyundai Motor India CEO, Young Key Koo stated that his company would bring the Genesis brand into the country if it is successful in the mid and premium segment.

Genesis is Hyundai's global luxury brand and sits above both the Hyundai and Kia brands. The Genesis brand competes with German luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.

The Genesis G90 is the only Genesis branded car on sale right now. The top of the line variant of the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series rival is powered by a 5-litre V8 that produces 420bhp and 519Nm of torque and can hit a top speed of 241km/h.
