Hyundai Motorsport Conquers 2016 WRC Rally Italia With Thierry Neuville
Hyundai Motorsport secured its second victory in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship. The new Hyundai i20 WRC model was used to conquer this challenge. Thierry Neuville displayed a dominant form in the WRC Rally Italia Sardegna.
Dani Sordo, who is also part of the Hyundai Motorsport team secured his fourth consecutive fourth place finish. Thierry Neuville was in exceptional form as he won the rally by 24.8 seconds. Jari-Matti Latvala of Volkswagen Motorsport was the closest challenger.
This was the second victory for the new Hyundai i20 WRC model during the 2016 season. It is the team's third win in total, post Rallye Deutschland in 2014 and Rally Argentina back in April. So far, the Korean-based team is experiencing good results with its new rally car.
At this point, Hyundai Motorsport has achieved five podiums finishes out of six rallies this season. The next round of FIA WRC, is slated to take place from June 30 to July 3. It will be WRC Rally Poland, which is also the halfway point of the 2016 WRC Championship.
