Hyundai India Concludes 9th National Skill Olympics For Dealer Technicians
The Hyundai 9th National Skill Olympics included 5102 technicians from Hyundai dealerships who participated in the inter-dealership competition
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), the country's second largest car manufacturer and largest exporter concluded its 9th National Skill Olympics fest at its manufacturing plant in Sriperumbudur near Chennai.
The inter-dealership competition identifies skills and honours the best talents amongst dealer technicians across the country. HMIL has had the privilege of garnering one international award in each edition in the past.
Speaking on the occasion MD & CEO - Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Mr. YK Koo said that Hyundai is a customer centric and caring brand and excellent service forms an integral part of the entire product experience in delighting their customers. The company motivates their technicians by giving them global exposure & learning and ensure their skills are sharpened to meet Global Hyundai Excellence Standards.
Every year, the company conducts a series of training programs to systematically upgrade and refresh the skills of technicians and familiarise them the latest technological developments. This competition helps them test their knowledge and induces a healthy competitive spirit amongst them.
For this year's competition, it saw over 1100 service workshops and more than 5102 technicians participated in the skill test. The competition kicked-off on August 23, 2016, at the Hyundai dealerships across the country which was followed by State Level competitions in September 2016 and Zonal Level competition in October 2016.
Of the 5012 technicians, 18 zonal champion qualified for the final held at Chennai. The participants were tested for their ability to spot technical simulated problems in the car and components and resolve them to meet international standards.
The competition also tested their adaptability to the concept of Digital Service namely Workshop Automation thereby depicting Hyundai's Modern Premium experience and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. The test included multiple rounds of practical and written tests.
Mr. Yasin Shaikh Umar (1st) from Singh Hyundai, Pune, Mr. Pradip Kumar Saha (2nd ) from Mukesh Hyundai, Kolkata and Mr. Rampadarth Chaudhary (3rd ) from Samara Hyundai , New Delhi were declared the Top 3 winners of the 9th National Skill Olympics by HMIL.
Also, three other runners-up were declared who were awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies. And for the 1st time, this year Hyundai Motor India Ltd introduced Sectional Awards for technician category. The award ceremony was felicitated by MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Mr. YK Koo.
