Hyundai Honours Saina Nehwal With The 1st Anniversary Edition Creta
Korean carmaker Hyundai honoured India's top ranked badminton player Saina Nehwal for her win at the 2016 Australian Open by handing over the keys to the first ever Creta 1st Anniversary Edition SUV to her in Bangalore.
The event also celebrated the success of the Creta which has become the most awarded SUV of the past year in India.
The 1st Anniversary Edition of the Creta features a few standout design highlights, which make it stand out from the other Cretas currently running about on the roads.
These include red and black stripes that run across the sides just above the black cladding on the doors. On the C-Pillar of the SUV, the stripes are also present along with the words '1st Anniversary Edition'. The stripes are also present on the right side of the Hyundai badge and extend towards the tail lamp on the right side of the Creta.
Inside, the seats get the same dual tone treatment as the stripes outside. However, instead of the red and grey, they are red and black in colour.
Speaking at the event, Y K Koo, Managing Director, and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, "Ms. Saina is the Badminton Icon of India. Her consistent performance has elevated this sport's enthusiasm to a great level of admiration among badminton lovers globally."
Australian Open Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist Saina Nehwal said, "It is an honor and wonderful experience for me and I would like to thank Hyundai for honoring me with the 1st Anniversary Edition of Creta. It's motivation for every athlete to receive the recognition for his/her hard work and achievements. I am quite confident and will give my best efforts in upcoming tournaments to bring pride to my nation and fellow countrymen."
Saina Nehwal claimed her second Australian Open win in June when she beat China's Sun Yu in the finals.
