The Hyundai Avante, Better Known As The Elantra Becomes The World’s Fourth Best-Selling Car
The Hyundai Elantra has recorded selling over nine lakh units in 2015, becoming the world’s fourth best-selling car.
South Korean carmaker Hyundai's Avante or the Hyundai Elantra, as it is sold in some parts including India, has become the world's fourth best-selling car out of 1,382 vehicle models sold last year, according to data.
According to the data collected by Best Selling Cars Blog, the Hyundai Avante sold 9,13,200 units in 2015, trailing the Toyota Corolla by around 1.5 million units.
Hyundai Motor's officials said the company had five other vehicle models ranked amongst the top 50 best-selling cars in 2015 globally, while Kia Motors also had three models ranked in the top 50.
Hyundai and Kia together form the world's fifth largest automobile manufacturing group, Hyundai Motor Group. According to company officials, nine vehicle models made by the group were ranked in the top 50 best-selling cars, making it the largest number by any single automotive group.
Data also showed that Volkswagen had six vehicles amongst the top 50 models, while Honda, Nissan, and Ford each had five automobile models ranked in the top 50.
A company official said, "Hyundai and Kia again had the largest number of best-selling cars even when the list is expanded to the top 100 as they had 13 vehicle models named among the top 100 best-selling cars in 2015."
"This goes to prove that Hyundai and Kia cars are receiving favorable market reviews both at home and abroad for their design, quality and price competitiveness."
