Honda Records Highest Sales For July In Asia
Honda Motors Co., Ltd. has released the summary of automobile production worldwide and region wise. The Japanese auto major has produced 372,472 units in the month of July 2016 a 4.3 percent decrease compared to July 2015.
The production in Asia of 165,235 units in July 2016 is a record number for the month for the car manufacturer, a clear 12 percent increase in production. The main country which has seen Honda production the most is China with 111,810 units produced in July 2016.
The overall production outside of Japan experienced a decrease year-on-year for the first time in 17 months (since February 2015). The worldwide production too decreased a year-on-year for the first time in 14 months (since May 2015).
Models of Honda which fared better were N-Box and N-WGN with sales of 13,024 and 6,155 units respectively. The Honda N-Box is the top selling car in the mini-vehicle category (under 660cc) in Japan and the Honda N-WGN is the eighth best-selling vehicle.
The exports from Japan witnessed an increase in July 2016 year-on-year for the 13th consecutive month (since July 2015).
