Honda Adds A Standard Safety Feature On The Jazz — Call It The Rise Of Competition
Honda has equipped the Jazz with dual airbags as standard across its variants
Honda has equipped its premium hatchback Jazz with the standard fitment of dual airbags for the driver and the co-passenger across all its variants.
The Japanese company had earlier offered the feature of dual airbags only on the SV, V and VX trim levels. However, the ABS and EBD is still a choice above the SV variant. The company has increased the prices of the E and S trims by Rs 12,000.
The Honda Jazz will now cost Rs 5.81 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) onwards with the dual airbags as standard.
With the government of India stressing on the safety levels of cars in India in order to reduce the number of accidents in the country.
From October 2017 onwards all new cars manufactured will have to adhere to the norms of standard dual airbags and this move comes in the backdrop on the new initiative.
Honda Jazz was the only premium hatchback without the standard fitment of dual airbags, its rivals like the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno come fitted as standard.
As the prices have been increased due the standard feature of dual airbags on the Honda Jazz, below is the revised price list.

Honda Jazz is powered with the choice of 1.2-litre petrol or the 1.5-litre diesel engines, the petrol mill churns out 89bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel unit develops 99bhp and 200Nm of torque.
The gearbox duty is taken care by the CVT automatic and 6-speed manual in the petrol, the diesel unit is mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox.
