Honda Alliston Facility Won’t Make Euro-Spec 2017 CR-V

According to the reports, the resources which have been previously allocated for the production will be utilised for making the North American-spec CR-V.

Last month, Honda announced the launch of its fifth-generation CR-V will be made in East Liberty, Ohio and Greensburg, Indiana in the USA and in Alliston, Ontario in Canada.

The production at the Canadian plant was to suffice the European region demand. But according to a new report, this plan has been reversed. In March 2015, Honda had confirmed that it will make the CR-V.

Laura Heasman, the company's spokesperson told the Canadian publication that the facility at Alliston will be supplying the North American markets due to the high demand for the existing model and the new Civic within the North American region.

The U.S. launch will be done in the same period, while the launch in Thailand in expected to happen in Q1 2017.

For India, the fifth-gen Honda CR-V will be a CKD product like the current model. We can expect Honda to price the CR-V around Rs 20 lakh for the base model.
